Studio Portrait Course
Studio Portrait Course
IS THIS COURSE FOR ME?
You have a good working knowledge of your DSLR camera and you are comfortable with shooting in manual mode, but you are completely new to the studio photography. You are thinking of renting a studio or buying your own equipment but do not want to “mess” anything up
This is a two day long, intensive, fun and creative workshop with lots of hand on experience with studio equipment and individual guidance from an experienced tutor. You will be getting a practical task and will be setting up the lights, reflectors and backgrounds. You will discuss the results at the end of the workshop and recap the main points to be remembered when shooting in a studio and working with a model. All is done in a small and cozy group, with maximum 4 participants. Your instructor will make you aware of common mistakes made and will help you to avoid them. By the end of this workshop you will have the basic knowledge of how to create a simple but effective light set up in a studio and how to achieve different lighting effects. On the second day you will be working into the pictures you took the day before. We will take a look at Raw editors like Adobe Lightroom and photo editors like Adobe Photoshop.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW AND BRING?
Good understanding of the fundamentals of photography, such as how to make correct exposures and understand the relationship between aperture, shutter speed and ISO is needed. Bring your DSLR camera with fully loaded battery and a memory card. Bring a choice of lenses if you have more than one. It might be helpful to bring your camera’s instruction manual. If you have, bring your laptop (and charger) with a working version of Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) and/or Adobe Lightroom (you can get a trial version for free) or contact us for a possibility to use our laptop during the course.
